This 8-speed masterpiece can go from 0 to 60 mph in under 3 seconds.
There are so many thrilling features on this sleek machine that everyone from Car & Driver to Forbes is gushing. In fact, Car & Driver already named the new 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, “The No. 1 Luxury Sports Car.” Car & Driver goes on to describe this supercar: “The Z06 isn't just the most powerful Corvette ever built, it's also the greatest—and a viable competitor to the famous-name European and British supercars.”
That may be because the 2024 Chevy Corvette Z06 is a next-generation legend, even among high-performance sports vehicles. Similar to the Chevy Stingray, it boasts a powerful V-8 direct injection engine, advanced technological features, plus a suspension and braking system that delivers the most agile handling possible. At the same time, it costs around half as much as some of its closest competitors. It just doesn’t get any better than this.
A luxury vehicle and supercar, all in one. Buckle up and enjoy the rush.
The Corvette Z06, a high-performance version of the Corvette, was designed for speed. This legendary vehicle offers the most powerful engine legally possible. Now in its Fifth Generation, each Z06 release has brought vast improvements and updates to the original, making it a standout collector’s choice among vehicles.
Generations of the Chevy Corvette Z06:
As for its history: The Z06 designation—the ultimate Corvette—came about under Zora Arkus-Duntov, who led performance vehicles during Chevrolet’s early years. Often referred to as the ‘Father of the Corvette,’ Duntov launched the first Z06 model in year 1963. Though Motor Authority reports that the Z06 badge initially came about to assist racing teams.
“Duntov became the head of performance vehicles at Chevy in the later part of the 1950s, right when General Motors and other American automakers enacted a voluntary ban on factory racing activities. Duntov worked around this with experimental vehicles like the Corvette SS, and by quietly offering performance parts to race teams. That's how the original Z06 came to be. In 1963, Chevy applied the Z06 badge to a Corvette for the first time, using it for an option package on the newly launched C2 Corvette,” Motor Authority recalls.
The entire Chevrolet family is now in its 8th generation, within a Chevy history lasting from 1953 until now. Amid the iconic Corvettes, the Z06 has already reached legendary status by beating Ferraris in speed, as reported by Road & Track.
All of us at Patriot Chevrolet of Bartlesville think Zora Arkus-Duntov would be very proud of his Z06 masterpiece and namesake, today.
The Corvette Z06 has been likened to a high-performance version of the Stingray, though with 3.5 inch-wider wheels for added stability. The cream of Chevy’s crop. This iconic vehicle has come a long way, and all of it has been lightning fast. What sets the Z06 apart for 2024 is that much like the Ferrari, the Corvette Z06 has a naturally aspirated, flat-plane crank. This made even Car & Driver wax poetic: “Z06 HIGHS: The flat-plane crank blesseth, a race car for the road, costs a fraction.”
When attached to its powerful 5.5-liter V-8 direct injection engine, Car & Driver calls the combination, “nothing short of symphonious... a parade of horsepower.” They go on to gush about the Z06’s circular-saw exhaust, and “celebrate the existence of the greatest Corvette ever built. The Z06 is the most aggressive version of the Corvette Stingray... The Z06 offers the sort of stunning performance you find in ultra-expensive exotics such as the Ferrari 296GTB.”
This magnificent machine revs at 8500 rpm, with an engine that produces 670 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. All hooked up to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. The result is a supercar that can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds, as tested by Car & Driver. The Z06 even boasts an advanced suspension and braking system for improved handling and stopping power. Chevy thought of everything.

The removable front fascia panels help increase the Z06’s downforce, keeping Z06 poised and planted as you round the track.”
