As for its history: The Z06 designation—the ultimate Corvette—came about under Zora Arkus-Duntov, who led performance vehicles during Chevrolet’s early years. Often referred to as the ‘Father of the Corvette,’ Duntov launched the first Z06 model in year 1963. Though Motor Authority reports that the Z06 badge initially came about to assist racing teams.

“Duntov became the head of performance vehicles at Chevy in the later part of the 1950s, right when General Motors and other American automakers enacted a voluntary ban on factory racing activities. Duntov worked around this with experimental vehicles like the Corvette SS, and by quietly offering performance parts to race teams. That's how the original Z06 came to be. In 1963, Chevy applied the Z06 badge to a Corvette for the first time, using it for an option package on the newly launched C2 Corvette,” Motor Authority recalls. 

The entire Chevrolet family is now in its 8th generation, within a Chevy history lasting from 1953 until now. Amid the iconic Corvettes, the Z06 has already reached legendary status by beating Ferraris in speed, as reported by Road & Track.

This magnificent machine revs at 8500 rpm, with an engine that produces 670 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque. All hooked up to an 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. The result is a supercar that can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 2.6 seconds, as tested by Car & Driver. The Z06 even boasts an advanced suspension and braking system for improved handling and stopping power. Chevy thought of everything. 

The new Corvette Z06 brings a luxurious interior, premium materials plus advanced technology. Each Z06 boasts an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a customizable 12-inch digital color instrument panel. Onboard is a Performance Data Recorder, to record video of your road trips, as well as an HD rear vision camera, which now comes standard. It even has a feature for tracking your vehicle when left with a valet. 

The lush interior of the Corvette Z06 is matched by a striking exterior that will turn both heads and hearts. Infinitely customizable, it even features a fully removable body-color roof panel that can convert this beautiful beast into a convertible. For 2024, the Z06 features three all-new colors, as well as five accent colors for dual racing stripes. You can now also get carbon-fiber wheels with a red stripe if you wish. In total, the Z06 now comes in 12 exterior colors and seven interior colors, along with seven wheel packages and six brake finishes.  

Though the most striking exterior feature on the Z06 must be its aerodynamic nature, designed for speed. As Chevrolet experts note: “The standard ground effects and spoiler optimize aerodynamic drag and powertrain cooling efficiency,” along with a “QuadCenter Exhaust. The removable front fascia panels help increase the Z06’s downforce, keeping Z06 poised and planted as you round the track.” 

For 2024, the newly arriving Chevrolet Corvette Z06 comes in three available trim levels, each with the option of either coupe or convertible for all three trims. This brings the total number of possible trim configurations to six. Those six 2024 Z06 trim options and wheel sizes follow:

Also standard on every 2024 Corvette Z06 are numerous safety and driver assistance features, such as rear parking sensors. Available also with a multi-view camera system, as well as a blind-spot monitor and rear cross-traffic alerts. 

While the Z06 wheelbase size will not vary, the composite materials for its wheelbase design do vary.
