Evaluated against a field of 40 other SUVs spanning the entire auto industry – including gas, hybrid, EV and luxury SUVs – the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV brought home top honors. MotorTrend reports that this all-electric sports SUV excelled according to six key criteria: “safety, efficiency, value, advancement in design, engineering excellence and performance of intended function.”

That’s why Chevrolet now proudly states: “We didn’t just win the 2024 MotorTrend SUV of the Year Award. We earned it.” 

According to TopSpeed: GM Ultium batteries appear to have a greater advantage over even Tesla EV batteries, in that they provide superior energy density, a longer vehicle driving range and a far longer battery lifespan – lasting eight rather than three years.  

The unique Ultium battery platform of the Blazer EV allows the all-electric engine an astounding EPA-estimated driving range of up to 324 miles per charge. It also gives the Ultium-powered electric engine between 340 to 557 horsepower, depending on the trim. The Ultium battery platform is capable of charging on typical DC fast chargers, and able to add about 78 miles of driving range in around 10 minutes. How incredible is that? 

In addition, when enabled, Chevy’s Regen on Demand and One Pedal Driving technology actually convert the electric vehicle's kinetic energy into stored battery energy for later use. As a result, this even decreases normal wear and tear on the brakes.

The Google Built-In navigation system embedded into every 2024 Blazer EV allows drivers the ability to anticipate charging stations, plus estimate driving ranges and arrivals. This onboard system has been significantly overhauled and fine-tuned so as to vastly improve connectivity. Blazing new trails, the 2024 Blazer EV LT is an ingenious, all-electric Chevy masterpiece. Aboard hefty 19” wheels, the AWD LT can cover a 279-mile range on a single full charge, based on EPA estimates. The LT trim also comes standard with an LED Reflective Windshield Collision Alert system, which flashes a red windshield alert light when a front collision threat is detected. 

Inside, all three trims feature round air vents – reminiscent of the Blazer’s early years – flanking a futuristic dashboard. It also features massive cargo space: when rear seats are folded down, the 26 cubic-foot cargo area expands to a massive 60 cubic-foot space. 

The 2024 RS trim is the Blazer EV model with 21” wheels and the most range, expected to go up to 324 miles on a full charge. Relying on its advanced Ultium propulsion platform, the AWD RS receives an estimated 103 MPG in the city, 88 MPG on the highway, and 96 MPG combined. While for the RWD RS version, the EPA estimates 101 city MPG and 85 highway MPG.
