Top Rated SUV

Year after year, the Chevrolet Equinox is lauded to be one of the top consumer-rated SUVs in its class. It gives car owners a beautiful mixture of quality, performance, and a driving experience that holds up with the best of them.

The New 2021 Chevrolet Equinox: Trim Levels Galore

The choice to invest in the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox is easy. But you'll have a little more difficulty trying to choose between its amazing trim levels. The 2021 model features four different trim levels: the L, LS, LT, and Premier. Let's break them down one by one!

L

Before we list the different features of this base-level package, let's go over some of the car specs. Each of the four trim levels contains the same engine—a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 170 horsepower. Plenty of giddy-up for you, your family, and your luggage. The 2021 Chevy Equinox has a front-wheel-drive as its standard, but the three higher trim levels (LS, LT, and Premier) each have the option for an all-wheel drive.

Now then, let's focus on the L trim level. This base trim is loaded with incredible features for the entire family to enjoy. It comes with keyless entry and ignition, which isn't something many base levels are offering on the market currently.

Inside the cabin, you can look forward to a six-speaker audio system (most other models start you out with four speakers), a 7-inch touchscreen, a Wi-Fi hotspot, 4 USB ports throughout, and Bluetooth to hook your smartphone up to the infotainment system.

The L trim level also comes with three standard safety features: lane departure  prevention, forward collision prevention, and a rear-seat alert to help remind you to check on the back seat before you walk away from the Equinox.

LS

For those of you that want to take the next step up on the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox's trim level tree, the LS can offer you more convenience and comfort. The main draw to the LS trim level is the wider variety of body paint colors that it can grant you. That way, you can separate yourself a bit on the open road.

If you're looking to upgrade from the L trim level, then you'll have to invest in the LS convenience package, which gives you a privacy glass in your rear windows, as well as a power-adjustable driver's seat.

The LS comes standard with a compact spare tire and rear floor mats to help you keep up with the different dust, dirt, and debris that your kids trek onto your car's flooring.

LT

If you're looking to max out the amenities and features of your new vehicle without paying for the top trim level, then the  2021 Chevrolet Equinox LT is your answer. The base-level package alone makes it worth its weight in gold.

It comes standard with the aforementioned LS convenience package, so those rear floor mats and privacy windows are yours from the get-go. It also adds chrome detailing on the exterior of the car for a more futuristic look.

The base-level LT also comes with optional satellite radio and an upgraded driver information screen for your infotainment system.  The LT has three additional packages to choose from: the confidence & convenience package, leather package, and infotainment package. Let's break these down a bit further.

Confidence & Convenience Package: Contains remote engine start, heated driver/passenger seat, a power liftgate, automatic dual-zone temperature control, rear parking sensors, cross-traffic alerts, and blind-spot alerts.

Leather Package: Requires the Confidence & Convenience package, while adding a leather interior (hence the name of the package), auto-dimming mirrors, and memory settings for the driver's seat.

Infotainment Package: Also requires the Confidence & Convenience Package. Heightens the infotainment system with a high-quality navigation system, backup camera, a power outlet, and an 8-inch touchscreen (1 inch bigger than the standard).

Premier

The 2021 Chevrolet Equinox's top trim level lives up to its name by offering Bartlesville OK residents the latest technology a car could contain. As an example, its base package has a wireless charging pad and a power liftgate that doesn't require touch. That said, the focal point of the Premier trim level is adding on to the LT's C&C package and Infotainment package, which Chevy not so subtly named the Confidence & Convenience II package and the Infotainment II package respectively.

The Confidence & Convenience II Package gives car owners a heated steering wheel, seats that are both heated and ventilated, and new security features such as a surround-view camera for parking purposes and adaptive cruise control to ease the burden when you travel. The Infotainment II package adds on to that with a top-of-the-line navigation system and throws in the ever-wonderful Bose premium sound system (seven speakers in all).
