Chevy’s legendary Silverado 1500 has come a long way since its debut in 1999, as GM Authority writes. Designed to be a larger, stronger, and more refined successor to the heavy-duty work truck, it soon began setting industry standards. The Silverado was the first full-size pickup in the industry to offer a tow-haul mode. It was also likely the first to offer rack-and-pinion steering for pickups. Now in its Fourth Generation, and 7th year for this model, the incoming 2025 Silverado 1500 got everything right. This year’s fierce 1500 even has picky Car & Driver gushing.

Lighter, faster, smarter, stronger, and more fuel efficient. Everything right.
