What's New in the 2024 Model

While there aren't any groundbreaking changes to the design of the Silverado, there are subtle improvements over the previous model.

There are two new paint options, metallic Lakeshore Blue and Slate Gray, while OnStar and Higher-end now come as standard across all trims.

Any model with the 420-hp 6.2-liter V-8 now gets an active exhaust as standard.

The trims and packages have also been adjusted, with the Midnight Edition package now available on High Country trim and the Blackout package added to the Custom, Custom Trail Boss, RST, and LT Trail Boss trims.

Power and Performance Capabilities

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado capabilities are enhanced by a wide range of powertrain options.

The base engine is a 5.3-liter V6 producing 355 hp and 305 lb-ft of torque, while the top option is a 6.2-liter V8 that produces 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque.

There is also the option for a 2.7-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which produces 310 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque.

If you're looking for a diesel truck, then the Silverado has you covered with a 3.0-liter Duramax diesel inline-six, which produces 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque.

Overall, the Silverado's impressive array of powertrain options make it an excellent choice for a wide range of different situations.

Interior Highlights

From the stripped-down and functional Work Truck model to the bells and whistles of the High Country trim, the Silverado is as customizable on the inside as it is out.

Starting with the LT, the Silverado has a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and touchscreen interface, which works exceptionally well with the included wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Higher-end trims have wireless charging, heated and ventilated leather seats, an upgraded audio system, a color heads-up display, leather upholstery, and open-pore wood trim

Whether you're looking for a basic work truck or a luxurious pickup, the Silverado has you covered.

Towing Capacity

The max towing capacity of the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado is 13,300 pounds, meaning it's only really beaten by the F-150 and then only by 700 pounds.

Depending on the powertrain, the payload ranges from 1870 to 2280 pounds, meaning you can easily haul tools and equipment for the worksite or take your friends and family away for a weekend adventure.

All Silverado trims have 4WD as an optional upgrade.

Safety and Modern Features

The 2024 Silverado has an impressive list of modern features and safety technology.

2024 Chevrolet Silverado Trim Levels

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado has seven different trim levels: Work Truck, Custom, LT, RST, LTZ, High Country, and ZR2.

Each model comes with a unique set of features and capabilities to match your needs. You can customize them further with packages like the Z71 off-road package or the Towing Package for a more customized Silverado experience.

  • Teen Driver - Monitor your teen's driving habits and set speed limits and audio volume.

The basic Work Truck trim is perfect for those looking for a no-frills truck that can still get the job done. But that doesn't mean it doesn't have an impressive set of features.

It comes with a 310-hp 2.7-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder under the hood and a range of driver's assist tech, like forward collision warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and low-speed automatic emergency braking.

There's even a Teen Driver that lets you set speed limits and audio volume and produce a report card detailing your teen’s driving habits.

Chevy Silverado 1500 Custom trim level.

Standout features

  • Extra luxury - The cloth seats and 10-way power driver's seat add a touch of luxury to the Silverado Custom.
  • Off-road flexibility - The optional Z71 package adds an Autotrac 2-speed transfer case, hill descent control, and an auto-locking rear differential for improved off-road capabilities.

Building on the solid foundation of the Work Truck, the Silverado Custom adds a few more features for the perfect combination of workhorse and luxury.

Practical upgrades, such as the EZ Lift tailgate, LED cargo bed light, and heated side mirrors that sit side by side with luxury touches such as cloth seats, a 10-way power driver’s seat, and a SiriusXM satellite radio.

Optional upgrades include the Trail Boss package, which adds a 2-inch lift, and the Z71 package, which includes off-road features such as an Autotrac 2-speed transfer case, hill descent control, and an auto-locking rear differential.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT trim level.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LT

Standout features

  • Luxury and comfort - The 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, heated seats, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto all make the Silverado LT a pleasure to drive.
  • Convenience packages - The Safety Package and Convenience Package add convenience features such as an automatic trailering app, trailer brake control, and an HD Surround Vision camera.

If you do a lot of towing and want to tow in comfort, then the LT trim is the one for you.

The LT adds a range of comfort and convenience features, such as a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, heated seats, and a 3.4-inch color infotainment touchscreen.

The optional 3.0-liter Duramax diesel gives the LT a towing capacity of up to 13,300 pounds.

Automatic climate control and a heated steering wheel increase the comfort further, while the wide range of packages, including the Safety Package and Convenience Package, add even more options for customization.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST trim level.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST

Standout features

  • Performance - The sporty RST has the full range of available engines and a 3.23:1 rear axle ratio, making it great for towing or hauling heavy loads.
  • Rally and Redline packages - Customize your RST with the Rally and Redline packages, increasing performance and adding new badging.

The sporty RST is the perfect middle ground between work and play.

It has a sport-tuned suspension, the full range of available engines, and a 3.23:1 rear axle ratio, making it an excellent choice for those needing to tow or haul heavy loads.

Suppose you want to make the RST even more sporty. In that case, you can opt for the Rally and Redline packages, which increase performance by adding a performance-calibrated exhaust and a rally suspension package.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ trim level.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ

Standout features

  • Comfort in the cabin - The LTZ trim adds luxurious touches, such as a 7-speaker Bose audio system and heated and ventilated front seats.
  • Improved suspension - A revised suspension makes for a quieter, smoother road ride in the LTZ model.

Transitioning from a workhorse to more of any SUV, the LTZ trim adds more convenience and luxury features.

The interior is loaded with luxury touches, such as a 7-speaker Bose audio system, a power tailgate, a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, heated and ventilated front seats, and a wireless charging pad

But the changes aren't limited to the interior. The LTZ also has larger engine and transmission coolers and a revised suspension for a quieter, smoother ride.

You'll also get the LT's Safety Package as standard on the LTZ.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country trim level.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 High Country

Standout features

  • Luxury amenities - The High Country takes luxury to new heights with leather upholstery and the most comfortable seating available.
  • Driver assistance - GM's Super Cruise driver-assist system allows for hands-free driving on hundreds of thousands of miles of highways in the US and Canada.

The top of the line when it comes to luxury, the High Country has all the bells and whistles you could want in a pickup truck.

It takes the LTZ's standard features and adds an even more luxurious interior with leather upholstery, power-adjustable pedals, front bucket seats with memory settings, and lots of chrome accents.

On top of that, it also comes with GM’s Super Cruise driver-assist system, allowing hands-free driving on over 200,000 miles of highways in the US and Canada.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2 trim level.

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2

Standout features

  • Off-road capability - The ZR2 is by far the most capable off-road truck of the lineup, with a unique suspension setup and a wide range of off-road features.
  • Protection - Skid plates and rocker panel protectors help keep the underbody safe from damage, while the Goodyear Wrangler Territory mud-terrain tires provide superior grip in rugged terrain.

If the High Country is the height of luxury, the ZR2 is the most rugged and capable of the lineup.

It's built on a unique off-road suspension with an electronically locking rear differential, skid plates, and Multimatic spool-valve shock absorbers.

Front and rear e-locker differentials give the ZR2 superior low-speed control, while the Terrain Mode with one-pedal rock crawling makes driving in the most challenging terrain a breeze.

The ZR2 also has 18-inch off-road wheels with a 31.8-degree approach angle and Goodyear Wrangler Territory mud-terrain tires.

Skid plates and rocker panel protectors help protect the underbody from damage.
